The 2025 demographic breakdown for rural Americans’ satisfaction with live television reveals some interesting trends.
The 2025 Rural Video Subscriber study analyzed the responses of 266 highly satisfied consumers who rated their service 8 or above on a scale of 1 to 10. The study found that the primary factor contributing to their satisfaction was the belief that they were paying a fair price for the service.

From a demographic standpoint, individuals aged 18 to 34 especially valued quality customer service and the option to bundle television service with internet. In contrast, older rural Americans prioritized having access to specific channels and familiarity with their channel lineup and remote control as the main reasons for their satisfaction.
Equally important across all demographics is having specific and multiple channels to choose from. This likely reflects a growing frustration with the abundance of streaming apps, which require more credential management and lead to longer searches for content to watch.
