Local Broadcasters take Front Seat with Video Consumers

Back to Insights

For seven consecutive years rural video consumers have rated local broadcasters at a score of seven or above in importance on a one to ten scale. This year’s annual video and broadband report showed an overall level of importance rating of 8.2. Broken down by demographics, 35-54 year old rural Americans had a higher rating compared to 2021.

Some may be surprised to see that even that younger 18-34 year old group place a high level of importance on local broadcast stations with a 7.1 rating.

The Data Suggests

With a strong appeal across all age groups, one can conclude that local content remains important to rural consumers and certainly suggests that they will do whatever it takes to have it in their homes.
