48% of Rural Americans Work from Home

Back to Insights

Almost 50% of rural Americans are clocking in from home for at least part of their work week, according to the 11th annual subscriber study of consumers living in rural areas of the US.

What does this mean?

Working from home requires stable, high‑speed broadband capable of supporting video conferencing, cloud apps, SIP phones, and VPN connections. Poor broadband can limit the growth of home‑based work, entrepreneurship, and local business activity.

Many Business Service Providers (BSPs) are evolving their sales approach by prioritizing the customer experience. Instead of simply offering lower prices, they are now focusing on tailoring their services to meet each customer’s unique needs. This shift creates more value for customers and enhances satisfaction and loyalty.
