Over 19 Million Calls Challenged
Recently we received data reports from sixty voice providers that have the TCM Call Screening Service deployed, and the small sample results were nothing less than stunning! The sixty companies total landline count was slightly over a half million, but less than three per cent of their access lines were provisioned with the service, which still managed to challenge over 19 million calls over the last eight years. Of those 19 million calls, 11.6 million disconnected before completion, which indicates that the majority of them were robocallers or other unwanted calls.
For years Innovative Systems has provided a service that is the market’s most effective landline deterrent to these annoyance calls and a new feature makes it even better. The trunk group challenge feature now detects local exchange numbers that are originating outside the exchange territory and effectively challenges them. Because suspected spoofers are challenged, good guy calls have the option of pressing a digit on their phones to complete the call. Since most of these spoofers are robocalls they will not react to the challenge, causing the call to drop. What is sometimes forgotten is the fact that TCM intercepts telemarketers and robo-callers before the consumer’s phone rings, so the only calls that come in are from people you want to talk to.
