As Forest City PA’s NEP approaches 120 years of providing communication services for North Eastern Pennsylvania, the complexities of the telecommunications business have increased exponentially since the early 1900s. According to NEP’s Network Manager Bob Trusky, one of the key reasons for converting to the Innovative Systems IPTV Middleware solution was the desire to reduce the number of vendors they have to troubleshoot with concerning their video network.

According to Trusky, Innovative’s track record of system reliability and accessible support goes all the way back to the Application Peripheral (AP) days. For companies like NEP, Trusky says a one stop approach for managing the Set Top Box as well as the Middleware greatly improves efficiency and saves money in the back office. Trusky likes the fact that Innovative coordinates everything that is going to be done in conjunction with the middleware, reducing the number of fingers that get pointed at each other when you have multiple vendors for one solution. NEP is looking forward to providing Cloud DVR and other advanced features as they work towards upgrading the customer experience for their customers. Trusky says hard drive failures are a major contribution to the number of service calls made to the home and that they will be aggressively transitioning NEP customers over to the new solution.
