We never know when there will be a fire. But when there is one, isn't it nice to know that the system notifying the responders is reliable. Since the majority of the country's fire and EMS departments are volunteer, getting the message out quickly and efficiently is in many cases a matter of life and death.
Fast and Efficient
When a call is placed to the fire number, it is routed to the Application Peripheral™
(AP) and activates the Firebar Service. This, in turn, places outgoing calls to the specified
DNs. As soon as a responder answers the call, his identity is verified (if required) and he
is immediately conferenced with the calling party. The conference remains in progress until everyone
leaves the call. The other unanswered calls to the responders continue to ring while the conference
is in progress. Firebar can support up to 63 responders.
Call Logs
Documentation can be critical for fire investigations and to review response times.
The Firebar service provides a detailed log of call attempts and completion of every fire/emergency
call.
